KISAN SWARAJ SAMMELAN, Nov.2-4, 2018: Ahmedabad

Registration time window for Kisan Swaraj Sammelan 2018 (between Nov.2nd and 4th 2018, in Ahmedabad) organised by ASHA-Kisan Swaraj Network and Gujarat Vidyapith has been extended till Oct.10th 2018. We have also been able to set up a 2-step online donation and registration system wherein you will get to donate for the per-participant cost first, followed by a registration requirement with other details to be filled in through a subsequent email that you will receive.

Eminent persons including Ela ben Bhatt, Ashish Kothari, Yogendra Yadav, Popatrao Pawar have confirmed for public lectures of the Sammelan.

You will get to learn from experienced and pioneering organic farmers like Subhash Sharma, Suresh Desai and Deepak Suchde amongst others. India’s rich biodiversity will be on display through 70-75 stalls of agro-diversity and uncultivated forest foods. Parallel sessions on numerous relevant themes such as on ecological farming, GMOs, seed diversity revival, climate change, free trade agreements, other economic issues impacting farm livelihoods, water use in agriculture, adivasi farmers, women farmers, tenant farmers etc. are falling into place with several experts agreeing to be facilitators for the same.

ps: We had requested that women farmers donate Rs.500, male farmers and students Rs. 800/-, NGO and other representatives Rs. 1500/- and urban salaried citizens Rs. 2500/- per person so that this will cover costs related to accommodation, organic meals and all other logistics of the sammelan partially. However, the online payment system set up now allows only 3 slabs of payment. So, if you are a male farmer or student, choose the category that is convenient to you.
