ASHA-Kisan Swaraj and Gujarat Vidyapith are happy to put out the first List of Confirmed Registrations for the 4th Kisan Swaraj Sammelan, Nov.2-4 2018, Ahmedabad, hosted by Jatan. We request those of you who have registered, to go through the following letter carefully, in addition to checking if your name does appear in the First List, if you have already registered with us. Programme Schedule: Overview of the 3 day Sammelan

Dear Friend,

Welcome to the 4^th Kisan Swaraj Sammelan being organised by ASHA-Kisan Swaraj and Gujarat Vidyapith in Ahmedabad, hosted by Jatan, on November 2^nd, 3^rd and 4^th 2018. Hope that you have planned your travel including booking both to and fro tickets. Here are some details about the logistics for the Sammelan and we request you to kindly read this note completely.

Venue and how to reach: The Sammelan is being held at Gujarat Vidyapith. Gujarat Vidyapith is centrally located in Ahmedabad. It is near Income Tax Char Rasta on Ashram Road. Please note that there is no provision for pick-up by the organisers and all participants are requested to arrive on their own.

Accommodation facility: Accommodation for all registered all participants [including Gujarat, who are listed in Sammelan Participation Confirmation List-1 attached herewith] is within the campus of Gujarat Vidyapith, in the students hostels.  Accommodation is simple, on a shared basis and in dormitories. Bathrooms and toilets are also shared/common facilities. It would help if you keep in mind that your day’s routine begins along with 800 others in these hostels and you may plan it early enough to be on time for each day’s programme. Ladies and gents will stay in separate hostels. You are requested to pitch in to keep the rooms and wash area clean, following the principles of Mahatma Gandhi.

Things to be brought with you:

1. Personal medicines, Mosquito repellent, Water bottle to fill and carry around.
2. All toiletries you need and your own towel.
3. Hands-free ear phone system, with your mobile phone, in case we set up a FM based translation service.
4. Personal bed-sheet and pullover is recommended for hygiene purpose, although we shall be providing bed-sheets.

Please bring your own notebook and pen, and the same will not be supplied by the organisers, since we believe that very often this ends up in resource mis/over-use unnecessarily.

We would like to request all participants or teams of participants to please bring existing cloth banners with the name of your organizations and slogans for display. You could use your vernacular language for the same. Mind you, we are not looking for flex banners and we are actually attempting our best to make this convention plastic-free and waste-free!

Climate: Ahmedabad is expected to have hot sunny days on the three days of the Sammelan. Maximum day temperature is expected to be 36^o C and minimum night temperature would be 21^oC. Bring light clothes to wear during the day. You would need light woollens or shawl between 8 pm to 8 am.

Arrival-Departure details: Those delegates who have not sent their arrival departure details should send them immediately including date and time, by writing to asha.kisanswaraj@yahoo.in. This will help us arrange accommodation and food facilities properly. Once you arrive in the campus, look for reception cum registration counter located near main Guest House Building. Kindly note that accommodation is available only till 5^th November morning due to Diwali vacation, and if you are staying on beyond that, you are requested to make alternate arrangements in Ahmedabad.

We hope you will appreciate that we are organizing this convention through crowd-funding, are running this on a shoestring budget and would not mind all the simple arrangements being made, and some possible oversight in the logistics.

We are attaching the Programme Schedule overview as it stands today and please note that this might be revised in small ways. Like we mentioned in our Announcement of Registration, we would like to start locating possible translators for yourself and your team, after looking at the entire list of participants put up on www.kisanswaraj.in website.

Post Sammelan Tour: On 5^th November, 2018, a one day trip will be organized to visit some Sajiv Kheti farmers on payment basis. More details will be available at the registration counter. Please do not forget to enrol your name by Nov. 2^nd afternoon, if you intend to join the trip.
