The Kisan Swaraj Yatra is reaching Delhi on Dec 11th, after grueling travel through 20 states, meeting 25000 farmers, involving hundreds of organizations. Don’t you think that the powers-that-be at New Delhi should sit up and listen to the farmers and activists from the Yatra? Write to Smt. Sonia Gandhi urging her to meet the Yatra delegation.
Dear Smt. Sonia Gandhi,
The nation-wide Kisan Swaraj Yatra is reaching Delhi on December 11th after traveling through 20 states over 71 days. We are writing to urge you to meet with the Yatra delegation and initiate a dialogue about the demands and the policy framework of Kisan Swaraj.
The future of India’s agriculture is one of the most critical questions before the nation. It should not be the concern of the Agriculture Ministry alone. We need a comprehensive approach that places high priority on farm-based livelihoods and on reversing the alarming degradation of our soil, water and farms.
We urge you to show that you recognize the seriousness and urgency of the issues, and engage with the Kisan Swaraj Yatra delegation.
