‘Celebrating and Conserving India’s Rich Heritage of Crop Diversity’ from April 27 to 29, 2012
About 21 groups from 9 states of India, including 12 from 7 districts of West Bengal – working for in situ conservation and promotion of seed diversity and related knowledge – are expected to participate.

27th April 2012:
Seminar on ‘Agro-biodiversity and Ecological Agriculture’ from 10.30 am to 3.30 pm .
Along with an exhibition of numerous crop seed varieties by 10 local farmers’ organizations running community seed banks in 7 districts of West Bengal.
Venue : WBVHA TOWER, 580,Anandapur,Near Monovbikas Kendra,5 minute walk from Ruby Hospital,south-east Kolkata -700 017.
28th,29th April 2012 :
Kolkata Seed Festival continues at a larger, central venue, with a display of over 1200 seed varieties by 21 seed conservation groups from 9 states of India, including 12 from West Bengal.
Over 1200 varieties of different crop seeds will be on display, along with relevant posters and literature. Books, organic products, organic food and some seeds will be available on sale.The Festival will also feature parallel talks, presentations, film shows, and a cultural programme of song and music.
Time : From 11 am to 7.30 pm.
Venue : 10 Middleton Street (outside Earthcare Books), near Jeevan Deep/’Maidan’ station of the Metro Rail.
